I get in a rut when it comes to my slow cooker – I make the same few things over and over. The posts on this site make me look at lots of recipes and think – I wonder if I could do that in a slow cooker? This dip looks so great and I will now try making dips the slow food way!

Elizabeth, I do have a "from scratch" version of hummus that I am posting soon on here, just decided to make it a separate post since I think of hummus as being in a category of its own.

We don't have a slow cooker but I'm guessing there must be slow cooker recipes out there for making hummus from scratch. We made hummus not long ago using dried kidney beans soaked overnight (we ran out of chick peas) – it was great!
