1.

Foreword

This page is intended for players who are new to the game or class, have no intentions of raiding Mythic difficulty or simply want a morestraightforward way to play their specialization without being overwhelmedby the numerous subtleties and active abilities that need to be taken intoconsideration for optimal play.

2.

The Basics of Guardian Druids

Guardian Druids reduce incoming damage through their active mitigationGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (1) Ironfur. Ironfur has a negligible cooldown and can stack, makingit strong against incoming Physical damage and melee attacks. Theirself-heal, Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (2) Frenzied Regeneration, while not as strong as some othertank classes, provides a decent boost to self-sustain. Their combination of bothshort and long-cooldown defensive abilities helps them deal with Magic damageeffectively.

In terms of utility, Guardians bring Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (3) Stampeding Roar, a raid-widemovement speed boost, which is very powerful for many encounters where group-widemovement is a necessity. Guardians can also resurrect allies in Combat withGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (4) Rebirth and will occasionally pulse an aoe heal around them withGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (5) After the Wildfire.

The primary goal of a Guardian is to stay alive, using the tools at yourdisposal. This means generating and spending Rage on active mitigation, self-healing, and effectively using your defensive cooldowns to survivedangerous incoming damage. A secondary goal is to deal good damage; this isimportant to maintain a threat on your target and contribute to killingbosses faster. Luckily, this does not require much extra effort on your behalf— if you are performing your rotation well defensively, your damage willreflect that.

Below, we recommend two builds with different playstyles. The raidingbuild leans more on the Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (6) Thorns of Iron talent as it easy to learn, while the M+build revolves around Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (7) Raze.

Guardian Rotation Breakdown

6.

Active Mitigation Abilities for Guardian Druids

By executing your rotation, you will generate Rage. You canspend Rage in one of three ways: on your active mitigation spellGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (28) Ironfur, on your self-heal Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (29) Frenzied Regeneration, or ona hard-hitting attack Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (30) Maul.

Deciding how to spend Rage can be boiled down to a few simple situations. Ifyou are taking Physical damage or melee attacks, use Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (31) Ironfur. If youare at low health or expect to be brought to low health, useGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (32) Frenzied Regeneration. If you are not in danger of either, useGuardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (33) Maul.

Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (34) Ironfur is unique in that multiple spell applicationscan overlap, meaning you can simultaneously have two or more "stacks" of Ironfur. Youcan also pool Rage to spend on numerous stacks for dangerous moments in a fight.Keep in mind that every application has an independent duration, so adding astack will not refresh the duration on other stacks.

Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (35) Frenzied Regeneration heals you for a percentage of your maximumhealth over a short period. An important aspect of good FrenziedRegeneration use does not cause overhealing. This means you should be casting itwhen you are in low health or when the risk of being healed to full by a healerbefore your Frenzied Regeneration can finish ticking is low. You may also usethisspell proactively if you expect to take a large amount of damage soon, but remember that a portion of the heal occurs instantly, so do not let that go towaste.

Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (36) Maul should only be used when you are either not activelytanking or when you are taking so little damage that using Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (37) Ironfurwill not reduce your need for healing or increase your chances of living.

7.

Guardians have three baseline cooldowns.

  • Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (38) Barkskin reduces all damage you take by 20% for 12 seconds ona 60-second cooldown. It has a short cooldown, so use itoften.
  • Guardian Druid Tank Easy Mode - Dragonflight 10.2.7 (39) Survival Instincts reduces all damage you take by 50% for 6seconds. Survival Instincts has 2 charges and a 3-minute recharge time. This isyour major defensive reduction, to be used against lethal spike damage or"tankbuster" mechanics. Its short duration and long cooldown mean it shouldbe used sparingly.
