Our chapter strives to offer 1 all-chapter program or event each month, either purely social or geared to community service, fundraising, or networking. To suggest event ideas or join one of our programming committees, contact our VP Programming.
A list of upcoming events will arrive in your inbox on the 4th of every month via our Four on the 4th emails. Most chapter activities use Evite to extend invitations and share event details and updates.
As Theta sisters, we have a lot in common and sometimes we share deeper passions and enjoy getting together to explore them. That’s what our Special Interest Groups are all about and why they are so popular.
Involvement in these Special Interest Groups is a benefit of membership and therefore restricted to dues-paying members. Activities organized by these groups are announced through email or Evite by each Special Interest Group chair. Contact our VP Special Interests or the chair of the group for information about upcoming events.
Book Club
Book Club meetings are held monthly all year long, with a mix of daytime and nighttime events. We read a variety of books, from bestsellers to classics, historical fiction and thrillers to nonfiction and biographies. Selections are chosen by the group and announced months in advance so you can plan ahead. Meeting announcements are sent via Evite so you can RSVP easily and arrange a carpool if desired. Contact the chairs to join the group or recommend a book for future consideration.
Chairs: Nancy Ives and Gemma Smith
Book Club List
Bridge Club
The Bridge Club is set up in flights, but meets in foursomes each month for bridge and dessert. While each Theta must have a partner, non-Thetas are also welcome to participate. Games are informal and are scheduled at the convenience of the foursome. Players take turns hosting. In May, an annual luncheon for the entire group is held with awards for the top-scoring couples in each flight. Contact the chair if you are interested in joining the group.
Chair: TBD
Culture Club
The Culture Club meets monthly and explores a variety of cultural gems throughout metro Denver and the Front Range, including museums, cultural exhibits, heritage festivals, and points of interest. Most activities are held during the weekday or occasionally on weekends. Contact the chair to join the group or suggest an excursion.
Chair: Lauri Nitz
Downtown Lunch Bunch
If you live or work in downtown Denver, or just want to join other Thetas in the downtown area for lunch, this group is for you! Monthly lunches are scheduled at a variety of restaurants to accommodate all budgets. Contact the chair to join the group or make a restaurant recommendation.
Chairs: Karen Olson
High Country HillKATs
Do you live in/near the foothills/mountains? This group is for Thetas who live in or enjoy spending time in the Colorado high country. Periodic activities include happy hour get-togethers, ski and apres-ski dates, hiking, etc. Contact the chair to join the group or suggest an adventure.
Chair: Tricia Wales
Hiking Club
The Hiking Club meets every month or two to explore regional hikes and trails and the views of nature they afford. Come enjoy the company of your Theta friends, our beautiful Colorado landscape, and after-hike treats (like ice cream stops on hot days!). All ages and skill levels are invited to join. Contact the chair for more information or to suggest a hike location.
Chair: Mary Ellen Fitzsimmons
Nite Kites
Join young alumnae for co*cktails and conversation! The Nite Kites group gathers for happy hours, weekend brunches, tailgates, and other fun-loving activities. Connect with us on Facebook, where events are posted
Chair: Jane Rauscher(214) 212-8826
Chair: Samantha Kin(214) 918-8075
North by Northwest
This group meets periodically to explore the neighborhoods of north Denver, west Denver, and everything in between. We organize happy hours, gallery tours, and other adventures that appeal to the group. Contact the chairs to join the group or recommend a place to meet.
Chairs: Sandra Ackley
South Metro Lunch Bunch
Parker, Littleton, Castle Rock, Lone Tree, DTC… basically any destination south of Hampden Ave. is where you’ll find the South Metro Lunch Bunch. Monthly lunches are scheduled at a variety of restaurants to accommodate all budgets. Contact the chair to join the group or make a restaurant recommendation.
Chair: Mary Ellen Fitzsimonds
Supper Club
The Supper Club is all about dining out with Theta friends. Most gatherings are held on weeknights, with locations at restaurants throughout the metro area, and each Theta pays for herself. Invitations are sent via Evite, and because space is often limited, reservations book up fast; the chair maintains a waiting list in case there are last-minute cancellations. A fall planning meeting determines the theme/calendar for each year. Contact the chair to join the group or participate in annual planning.
Chair: Lisa Hogan
Pansies and Puppies
An opportunity for Thetas to bond with each other and their pups! This group is launching this year (2023) and the Chair will determine the frequency and location(s) of gatherings.
Chair: TBD
Moms and Tots
Spend time with other Theta moms and their young kids. This group is launching this year (2023) and the Chair will determine the frequency, type and location(s) of gatherings.
Chair: TBD
Third Thursday Lunch Bunch
This group started out as the Original Lunch Bunch and is making a comeback, but all Thetas are welcome and carpooling will be available to those that are interested. We will select much-loved restaurants all over the metro area (but NOT downtown). We will insist they offer easy access, plentiful free parking, a quiet(er) dining space or private room, and separate checks (most meals will cost under $25 per person).

Theta Nametags
The Denver Alumnae Chapter uses sturdy plastic nametags for member identification. By wearing your personalized nametag, you can enjoy a clean, professional look (no crumpled stick-on labels!) and faster check-in at events.
The black and gold nametags are magnetic and easy to use. Keep your nametag handy in your jewelry box, purse, or car so it’s always available whenever you need it. You will look smart and sophisticated wearing your custom nametag at every Theta event.
